My new job requires me to drive a ton. Hence the Kia. I think I’m going to to start gathering photos of interesting things I find on my travels/investigations.

Kinja'd!!!

So far, I have 700km on the Kia in a week.

Bonus picture: one road is in Canada and the other the USA.

I do! Here’s one from my files. It’s a great livery.

What is "a lot" of driving? Always curious because this is often subjective. A lot of driving to me would be more than 100 miles a day. But a lot of driving to a city dweller or someone with lots of traffic would probably be more than 20 miles. But then someone in Montana where everything is far might not say it is a lot until it's 300+ in a day.

No need for a physical wall. There are hidden cameras and sensors.  I'd be gunned down pretty quick

Cool! I live an hour and a bit from two different airbases - CFB Shearwater and CFB Greenwood. Shearwater is the Maritime helicopter base (the now-retiring SeaKings and CH-148 Cyclones) and Greenwood is mostly home to our Aurora anti-sub and long range patrol aircraft and C-130 Hercules transports, as well as Search and Rescue Cormorant helicopters. :)

We often see Auroras doing low flyovers around the province on patrol and on training flights. :)

This is actually a Civilian airport. Abbotsford International (YXX).

It does have some military contractors located out of it that service our airforce. I’ve been to those facilities once when I volunteered for Stephan Harper’s last election campaign.

Honestly, it isn’t that much.  Maybe 2 hours a day and 100 miles.  Plus commute times

Sounds like a pretty sweet gig if they are paying mileage. Anytime I'm driving for a trip, I make $0.54 a mile which adds up pretty quickly. It certainly would do better if I wasn't making 24mpg at best lol.

They don’t pay milage, but are paying me a $500 a month car allowance + gas. I can also bill clients for the milage/drive time.

The car (and it’s milage/depreciation) can be claimed on my taxes
